The MSc in Social Marketing offers a choice of the following eight subjects:
- Fundraising
- Strategic Marketing Communications
- Social Marketing Planning
- Charity Accounting and Finance
- HRM in the Voluntary Sector
- Executive Skills in the Voluntary Sector
- Managing Change
- Market Research in Social Issues
Students must complete any five of these subjects.
In addition, you will have to write a 10,000-word dissertation. The dissertation is a major part of the MSc and tests your ability to formulate complex and nuanced thinking, communicate it intelligibly and intelligently, and manage a project that is expected to last for several months. You should start thinking about the topic of your dissertation long before the completion of the programme. The dissertation must be on a topic agreed with your tutor. If upon submission the dissertation is not deemed to be of an acceptable standard, then you will need to re-submit your dissertation within two months and pay a resubmission fee of 100 euro.
Entry requirements are flexible and vary, but we generally demand:
(a) a first degree from CIM (BVI) / GBU-Europe
OR
(b) an Honours degree from an internationally accredited University
OR
(d) a professional qualification from an internationally recognised professional body.
The decision of the Board regarding admissions will be final. No reason for acceptance or rejection will be given to candidates or to anyone else. Global Business University reserves the right to vary its admission criteria from time to time. The Academic Registrar is responsible for the interpretation of the admission criteria and may impose other conditions to be satisfied before admission.
Upon successful completion of all modules and the dissertation, you will be awarded a MSc in Social Marketing.
We don’t usually offer exemptions at graduate level, but if you think you have a strong case you are welcome to complete the exemption form that is part of the application form.
On top of the programme fees, you will need to pay an application fee of 80 Euro, examination fees (100 euro per subject), as well as a dissertation evaluation fee of 250 euro.
