The MSc in Business Psychology will deepen your understanding of human behaviour and motivation and give you a solid foundation in the theory of psychology, whether you have a previous degree in psychology or not. This degree is intended for those who would like to work in HR or in any other business setting – not for those wanting to work as therapists or as health professionals.

We will help you develop skills and knowledge that are highly relevant across a diverse range of industries and careers, and to learn how psychological research, techniques and understanding can contribute to addressing local and global issues.
More specifically, you will study the following:
- Psychological mechanisms that underlie human behaviour and the variety of factors that influence mental health;
- Basic descriptive and inferential statistics in psychology and key concepts in experimental and correlation research methods;
- How people’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are influenced by the presence of others in various social contexts and social psychological theories;
- Perception and attention, visual and auditory processing, language (comprehension and production), memory, thinking, reasoning;
- Key areas and issues in the study of human development, including cognitive, social and emotional development;
- Consumer cognition, customers’ attitude change and persuasion, goal-directed consumer behaviour, social values, and consumer psychology;
- Management issues that psychologists get called to investigate, including how; individuals behave in organisations and how organisations affect individuals and their motivation;
- Major learning theories and how they contribute to our understanding of how we learn, process and remember information.
The MSc in Business Psychology is made up of six compulsory modules:
- RESEARCH METHODS FOR PSYCHOLOGY
- ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR
- CONSUMER PSYCHOLOGY
- BUSINESS ETHICS
- MANAGING EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE
- OCCUPATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY
In addition, you will have to write a 10,000-word dissertation. The dissertation is a major part of the MSc and tests your ability to formulate complex and nuanced thinking, communicate it intelligibly and intelligently, and manage a project that is expected to last for several months. You should start thinking about the topic of your dissertation long before the completion of the programme. The dissertation must be on a topic agreed with your tutor. If upon submission the dissertation is not deemed to be of an acceptable standard, then you will need to re-submit your dissertation within two months and pay a resubmission fee of 100 euro.
Entry requirements are flexible and vary, but we generally demand:
(a) a first degree from CIM (BVI) / GBU-Europe;
OR
(b) an Honours degree from an internationally accredited university
OR
(c) a professional qualification from an internationally recognised professional body.
Please note that this MSc assumes a good knowledge of key principles and ideas in Psychology. Although we admit students from different backgrounds, ideally a candidate would have a Bachelor degree or work experience in the broad field of Business Psychology.
Upon successful completion of all modules and the dissertation, you will be awarded an MSc in Business Psychology.
We don’t usually offer exemptions at graduate level, but if you think you have a strong case you are welcome to complete the exemption form that is part of the application form.
Programme fees for Distance Learning students are set at 4,000 euro. On top of the programme fees, you will need to pay an application fee of 80 Euro, examination fees (130 euro per subject), as well as a dissertation evaluation fee of 250 euro.
For Centre students, fees vary according to Centre.
Exams are held at approved examination centres around the world every June and January. In order to be eligible to take exams in January, students must submit their Examination Entry Form by 30 November; to take their exams in June, by 30 April.
