All MBA programmes at the Global Business University-Europe are made up of three compulsory modules. On top of these, students are required to study and successfully complete between five and seven electives, allocated to each student by a committee that takes into account each student’s existing academic credentials. In the vast majority of cases, students are assigned 5 electives.
What is an MBA?
The MBA programme was developed originally in the United States and soon afterwards was introduced in the UK. It is currently expanding rapidly in continental Europe and the rest of the world. With the growing internationalisation of the world economy, an increasing number of companies and organisations require top managers to have an MBA Degree. The degree covers not only Business Administration per se, but also a variety of subjects, all of which are of vital importance to managers in business and the public sector.
Why have an MBA?
The MBA programme is action-oriented and is designed to accelerate the managerial and leadership development process of candidates. Gaining an MBA from the Global Business University-Europe will make you a great deal more competitive in the market place, as your knowledge of management skills and operating techniques will be significantly improved. The specific focus of the programme is on enabling managers to operate at a strategic level and manage their organisations effectively in the complex and uncertain business environment of today. Compulsory Modules
1. Organisational Behaviour
All good managers should possess a fundamental understanding of the interactions that occur among people in their workplace. This compulsory course in Organisational Behaviour will give you exactly that expertise, by focusing on the interaction of people in organisations and the consequences of their behaviour for organisational effectiveness. It will provide you with an understanding of a systematic set of behavioural science concepts for analysing human behaviour in organisations. Furthermore, it will give you the opportunity to relate these theoretical ideas to real organisational problems through the analysis of real case-studies. By the end of the course you will have increased your ability to influence and manage others effectively in organisational contexts.
2. Business Policy & Strategy
This course will give you an overview of all essential aspects of Business Policy and Strategic Management. ‘Running a business’ means much more than dealing with the day-to-day issues of an organisations. All good managers must focus on strategic issues involving major resource allocation or long-term financial planning. They must also set business objectives in liaison with all stakeholders and, further, implement the organisation’s strategy or grand plan. This course will provide you with strategy insights and will encourage you to reflect on strategic dilemmas. It covers strategy analysis, formulation of strategies at different levels of the organisation, and strategy implementation. Additionally, you will reflect on the purpose of organisations, their governance, and their role towards shareholders, stakeholders and society in general.
3. Research Methods
Research is a logical and systematic search for new and useful information on a particular topic. It is an investigation for finding solutions to scientific and social problems through objective and systematic analysis. It is search for knowledge and a discovery of hidden truths. This compulsory course in Research Methods will equip you with the necessary tools to conduct research for your assignments and, in the future, market and business research.
